Agamemnon In The Ring is a retelling of the Trojan War epic transposed into the world of wrestling. Written in alexandrines, punctuated with rock opera songs and choreographed stage fights, the play mixes the grandiose, the popular and the sacred. Agamemnon, the king of the city of Mycenae and reigning Champion, announces the end of his wrestling career. During a gala evening, he is inducted into the Hall of Fame of the House of Mycenae; the entire family of the ex-champion attends the ceremony. While the evening is going smoothly, two young wrestlers, unknown to the crowd, come to play spoilsport and mischievously steal a trophy from Agamemnon, his belt of the National Legion offered by his brother, Menelaus. Determined to defend the family's honor, Agamemnon will don his wrestler's costume for a final fight that already promises to be epic.
