Very few of us have lived in a world without nuclear weapons. I haven't. You probably haven't either. They just exist.... Sometimes the threat comes into focus. When Russia invades Ukraine. But that doesn't make the weapons any more dangerous. They are always dangerous. And one day - intentionally or accidentally - they will be reused. And then it's all over. None of this is normal.
