In his first concert with the Dortmund Philharmonic, Nicolas Altstaedt, one of the leading cellists of our time, will feature three composers who were all born in the multi-ethnic Habsburg state. The sensitive early classical world of Haydn's Cello Concerto meets the folkloristic tones struck by Bartók's pupil Sandor Veress and Antonín Dvořák in his dramatically agitated 7th Symphony.
