Young hearts run free: Felix Mendelssohn, Augusta Holmès and Erich Korngold all showed dazzling talent at an early age. Each followed their instincts, writing music that blazed with colour in a tumultuous and often hostile world. And the BBC Symphony Orchestra celebrates them all today, in this keenly awaited debut appearance from the dynamic young French conductor Marie Jacquot.
