Formed in 1989 in the northernmost region of Lapland, at the icy fringes of the Arctic Circle, by Nuclear Holocausto Vengeance, Sodomatic Slaughter and Demonic Fornication, the band recorded several chaotic demos that were released in 1991 as the unofficial but hugely influential masterpiece The Oath of Black Blood before releasing their comparatively experimental debut full length Drawing Down the Moon in 1993. The band has continued to evolve over several decades and creative eras to produce an avant-garde body of work that has never strayed thematically from its occult Satanic origins.
