A marriage of the visual and musical arts. Painter Marc Chagall lived in New York for seven years before he returned to Europe in 1948. During these New York years, he was commissioned to design the scenery and costumes for a new ballet based on a poem by Alexander Pushkin and set to Tchaikovsky’s Trio in A Minor.
