The Swingin’ Medallions, a Southern tradition since 1962, embody the very definition of “handing down” musical legends and customs across generations. Founded by John McElrath, the band is now led by his sons, Shawn and Shane, along with original drummer Joe Morris, who joins performances when he can. Known for their high-energy style and timeless sound, the Medallions have delighted audiences of all ages for decades. Their signature horn section and eclectic mix of classic and contemporary tunes have earned them a loyal following nationwide, from college campuses to the biggest stages. They are best known for their 1966 hit “Double Shot of My Baby’s Love,” a track that has become an anthem for Southern rock fans and was even dubbed by Bruce Springsteen as “The greatest fraternity rock song of all time.”

Paul Thorn has spent more than thirty years crafting songs that blend Southern roots, soulful grooves, and heartfelt storytelling. Raised in Tupelo, Mississippi, Thorn began singing in his father’s Pentecostal church before pursuing a career as a professional boxer, even facing legendary fighter Roberto Durán. After hanging up his gloves, he turned to music, releasing his debut album in 1997 and building a devoted following with his unique mix of Americana, blues, and gospel influences. Known for his warm voice and candid humor, Thorn has earned praise for his ability to turn everyday experiences into songs that resonate deeply with audiences.
