Giacomo Puccini’s Madama Butterfly returns to Bass Performance Hall in a stunning full production from Fort Worth Opera that delivers the heartbreak and beauty of this iconic work. Featuring breathtaking sets, richly detailed costumes, and the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra bringing Puccini’s achingly beautiful score to life, this unforgettable story of love, cultural blindness, and a mother’s sacrifice remains as powerful today as when Fort Worth Opera first performed it in 1947. Anchored by one of the most exquisite scores in the operatic canon, Butterfly is a poignant tribute to a woman’s steadfast devotion and maturing will — and a signature work of the company’s 80-year legacy.
