An infinite cosmos of colors and sounds, deep darkness and dazzling light, untamed, mysterious landscapes, the largest forest area on earth: the wilderness of the Amazon jungle in South America is a place of overwhelming beauty and biodiversity. Inspired by the shimmering nature of the jungle with all its fascinating facets, the Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos created a powerful symphonic cantata.
