Two contrasted moods in tonight’s concert. Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 10 (for two pianos) is full of the energy of youth – graceful but with drive and verve. No. 27 came later in life. Warm, uncomplicated and mellow, it’s uncharacteristically straight to the point for Mozart, with just the slightest hint of weary resignation.
