Clemens Schuldt dedicates this concert, rich in musical impressions, to the majesty of the elements. Composed when Rachmaninov was only 20 years old, his second symphonic poem is inspired by a Russian poem that elevates The Rock to a symbol of strength and permanence in the face of life's hazards.
