Austrian conductor Christoph Koncz invites us to a festival of orchestral images. We begin with the overture to Wagner's Meistersinger , which foreshadows all the opera's themes. With its romantic flair and majesty, it celebrates the artist's freedom from established rules. Wagner's father-in-law, Liszt, and his First Concerto allow American pianist Michelle Cann—a Grammy winner in February 2025—to dazzle us with a dazzling display of virtuosity....
