Tapiola Sinfonietta's artistic partner Nicolas Altstaedt once again performed as both cellist and conductor. Mozart offered Tchaikovsky an image of a time of happiness and a world of beauty, which he sought in his Rococo Variations for cello and orchestra. The version of the Variations that spread around the world was tampered with by cello soloist Fitzenhagen, but Altstaedt offers an opportunity to hear the work in the form the composer intended...
