The world of percussion instruments is huge: the collection at the Elbphilharmonie has classical percussion instruments from the symphony orchestra (such as timpani, drums and cymbals), so-called mallet instruments (for instance, the xylophone and vibraphone) and countless other rhythm instruments, even from other parts of the world.
