Inspired by “landays,” the poetry written by women from Afghanistan as an act of rebellion, this highly evocative program highlights the socially forbidden thoughts and feelings of women from all walks of life. Featuring music from around the world by Juhi Bansal, Margaret Bonds, Xavier Montsalvatge, Francisco Santiago, and the world premiere of “Balikbayan” by Saunder Choi.
