Nysted Orgelmuseum presents a very special family concert with the well-known musician and entertainer Sigurd Barrett. Sigurd is loved by both children and adults for his ability to convey music and stories in an engaging and entertaining way. This concert will be a unique opportunity to experience Sigurd's talented story combined with the 15 organs worth preserving in Nysted Organ Museum.



The concert will focus on conveying the fascinating history and unique sound of the organ to children and their families. Sigurd Barrett will guide the audience through a world of musical adventures, where he will bring the organs to life with his characteristic charm and musicality. Through fun and educational stories, the children will gain insight into the many facets of the organ and its role in the history of music.



Sigurd Barrett will not only play the organs, but will also involve the audience in interactive elements that make the concert both entertaining and educational. Children will have the opportunity to ask questions and participate actively, making the experience even more engaging.



This family concert is part of the SoundScape concert series and is designed to inspire and excite children and young people. With Sigurd Barrett's help, we hope to spark a lifelong interest in music and organs in the next generation.

A meeting between East and West, past and present – ​​between the 7,000-year-old Chinese clay flute xun and the modern church organ. As the first ever, Jette Mogensen and Poul Høxbro have united these two instruments in new, expressive compositions, written by Jette for this unique constellation.



The concert ranges from delicate sounds to full-blown rumble, from minimalist lines to virtuosity. We hear organ solos, enchanting pieces for xun and organ, and flute echoes from distant times.



Jette Mogensen & Poul Høxbro – boundary-breaking musical pioneers

Jette Mogensen is a trained soloist organist and composer with a clear focus on renewal and innovation.

She has held positions in several major Danish churches and works versatilely with both classical and experimental chamber music. Her compositions are always written for organ – often in dialogue with choirs or solo instruments – and she is an active improviser who has participated in many concerts and projects both in Denmark and abroad. As the only Danish participant in the Nordic research project [re]thinking improvisation, she has helped to set new standards for organ improvisation in an artistic and research-based context.
