The “point of no return” is explored by Angelin Preljocaj in *Annonciation*, at the moment of the biblical Annunciation by the Archangel Gabriel.

For Leonora, the song of the troubadour Manrico holds the promise and glow of love; Manrico's rival Count Luna perceives in it threat and danger. Verdi's opera is a celebration of Italian opera singing at its best - so it is no coincidence that the title character is a singer himself.

Elisabeth Stöppler's production of "Stockhausen for Children: Michael's Journey" offers children ages 6 and up, as well as adults, a sensory experience of Karlheinz Stockhausen's cycle "Light," a monumental work of the younger musical avant-garde. Together with Michael, portrayed by a solo trumpet, the audience embarks on a fantastical journey around the world, immersed in the infinite expanses of the universe and rarely heard sounds.
