Two masterpieces of French late Romanticism form the core of the second chamber concert program: Ernest Chausson’s Piano Quartet in A major, Op. 30, marked by rich tonal colors and expressive melodic writing, is paired with César Franck’s Piano Quintet in F minor, Op. 14, whose dramatic intensity and radiant sonority make it a pinnacle of Romantic chamber music.
