Mr. Tremolo collects instruments. He practices and plays day and night with passion and virtuosity, much to the chagrin of his neighbors. Especially to the ears of the fortune teller Madame Astra Lunatika, Tremolo's playing sounds like noise. She curses him and thus grants Tremolo the ability to 'play' edible musical notes. Without further ado, the mad musician converts his kitchen into a sound laboratory. He even ends up earning money from the tasty notes and becoming a media star. "Tremolo shows that you can see, feel, and taste music, just as you can hear a painting" (Tomi Ungerer).
