In 2025, the Salzburg Festival's Young Singers Project will once again offer young, highly talented singers from all over the world a broad range of professional development opportunities in the wonderful ambience of the Festival. Thanks to the generous support of our main sponsor, the KÜHNE FOUNDATION, 14 singers from nine nations will be able to participate in the project this summer. They will work with Festival artists and international coaches on technique and repertoire, attend rehearsals of Festival productions, and participate in opera productions: in Sebastian Schwab's opera for children, Musketeers! (a world premiere!), as well as in the new production of Giulio Cesare, the revival of Macbeth, and the concert performance of Andrea Chenier. The three YCA (Young Conductors Award) concerts will also return in 2025, where you can hear three YSP participants. We are delighted and proud that numerous YSP participants from previous years can be heard on numerous international stages and will also participate in opera productions and concerts at the 2025 Festival. As part of the Festival Opening Ceremony, you will have the opportunity to experience the YSP 2025 participants at their first public performance in the Great Hall of the Mozarteum: accompanied on the piano by Edward Liddall, they will present songs, arias, and duets. Further public performances by the young artists will take place in masterclasses with Julian Prégardien (August 3), Stéphanie D'Oustrac (August 15), and Malcolm Martineau (August 22). And as in previous years, the major orchestral concert with the Mozarteum Orchestra on August 28 at the Haus für Mozart will be the climax and conclusion of this year's YSP.
