"Buchbinder delivers the best complete Mozart," the web portal Classics Today stated. Mozart now also takes center stage in the celebration of the renowned Austrian pianist's 80th birthday. The CAMERATA will be Rudolf Buchbinder's dialogue partner in three Mozart concertos, which he will conduct from the piano. This is the orchestra that has been intimately connected to the Salzburg master's deeply personal piano concerto output since its beginnings. The ideal conditions, then, for a musical birthday celebration, where sparkling melodic and the clearest structural piano playing meets chamber music sensitivity. Buchbinder, who has been playing the piano for 75 years and giving concerts for 70 years (!), spans the entire world of Mozart's wonderful piano concertos with the CAMERATA, from the early Salzburg Concerto in E-flat major, K. 271, which Mozart composed for the French pianist Louise Victoire Jenamy, to his first minor concerto, K. 466, which already contains the drama of "Don Giovanni," to the great C major concerto, K. 503, which anticipates Beethoven.

Monasteries were not only places of spirituality, but also cultural centers. They attracted composers whose music was preserved in the archives and passed on between friendly monasteries. In the 1960s, Robert Münster, then head of the music department of the Bavarian State Library, embarked on a musical treasure hunt: He rummaged through music cabinets and organ lofts in monasteries throughout Bavaria – with great success. In the process, he discovered true rarities, including works by W.A. Mozart. In our concert, you have the unique opportunity to experience further treasures from Münster's legacy live for the first time in over 250 years.
