Catori Quartet

On November 9, 1938, Nazi gangs destroyed Jewish businesses and burned synagogues and other Jewish institutions. Thousands of Jews were abused, arrested, or murdered during this "Reichskristallnacht" (Pogrom Night). Similar attacks also occurred in Frankfurt (Oder), where Germans also burned the synagogue. And in Frankfurt, too, the victims of these atrocities have been commemorated on November 9 for many years. The concert reading, to which the BSOF invites on "Day of Remembrance," has long been one of the events of remembrance. On November 9, 2025, students from Frankfurt's Karl Liebknecht Gymnasium will perform it together with our Catori Quartet. Accompanied by music by Erwin Schulhoff and Hans Krása, texts by Erich Mühsam, Mascha Kaléko, and Kurt Tucholsky will be recited.
