Ephraim Reitman started playing guitar at twelve years old and developed an affinity for Latin based music. He began playing with the local musicians in his Philadelphia neighborhood. At 15 he started studying percussion with Butch Ballard, a drummer for Count Basie and Duke Ellington, which in turn help his guitar playing.
