Chad Fothergill is Chapel Organist at Duke University and the organist for Duke Divinity School. He has presented recitals, lectures, lecture-recitals, hymn festivals, and workshops for numerous musical and liturgical organizations throughout the United States. Before his appointment to Duke, he held visiting faculty appointments at Gustavus Adolphus College and the University of Delaware, as well as church positions in Iowa City, Philadelphia, New York City, and Minneapolis. Since 2018, he has also served each summer on the faculty of the Lutheran Summer Music Academy and Festival. Mr. Fothergill's recital program will feature the Flentrop organ, with works by Dieterich Buxtehude, his contemporaries, and his predecessors

Internationally acclaimed pianist Kwan Yi brings to life one of Franz Liszt's most iconic and evocative masterpieces: Années de pèlerinage, Deuxième année: Italie (S. 161). This extraordinary work, composed between 1838 and 1849, is Liszt's musical reflection on his travels through Italy-a journey steeped in Renaissance art, poetry, and spirituality. Each piece in the set is infused with the soul of Italy, from the sculptural grandeur of Michelangelo to the lyrical beauty of Petrarch's sonnets. Yi guides audiences through this rich artistic landscape, culminating in the electrifying Après une lecture de Dante, known as the "Dante Sonata"-a thunderous, emotionally charged tour de force that evokes the torment and transcendence of The Divine Comedy. With his virtuosic command and poetic sensitivity, Yi promises an unforgettable performance of a work that bridges visual art, literature, and the heights of Romantic piano expression.
