From Giuseppe Verdi and Richard Wagner to Richard Strauss, all were fascinated by his wealth of ingenuity and the soaring ease of his imagination. Wolfgang Mitterer, a virtuoso of the art of recharging, reinterpretation, and deconstruction, explores the ambiguity inherent in this much celebrated music.
