Lincoln's Symphony Orchestra

LSO welcomes the Lincoln Youth Symphony to the stage for a side-by-side performance of Kenji Bunch’s Supermaximum, a work inspired by the rich tradition of chain gang songs. Next, LSO is joined by rising star pianist Tony Siqi Yun to perform Dmitry Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No. 2. The program closes with Johannes Brahms’ deeply emotional Symphony No. 3.

Dylan Shelton, founder of River City Puppets, has developed a brand-new production bringing symphony favorites to life with giant puppets and storytelling. Join us one hour before the concert for complimentary face painting, an instrument petting zoo, crafts, and other family activities.

We solemnly swear that we are up to no good! Join LSO for a night of magic spells, mischief, and wonder as we celebrate the music of Harry Potter with suites from scores by composers John Williams, Patrick Doyle, Nicholas Hooper, and Alexandre Desplat. Dress up as your favorite Harry Potter character and join us for a spell at the photo booth before the concert or during intermission!

After opening with LSO Composer-in-Residence Elena Ruehr’s Broadway Boogie Woogie, LSO celebrates the culmination of her three-year residency by presenting her newly commissioned Violin Concerto No. 3, written for the orchestra and concertmaster Anton Miller. Following intermission, LSO performs Ludwig van Beethoven’s magnificent and heroic Symphony No. 3 “Eroica.”
