Bach's music was a great inspiration for Johannes Brahms, who dedicated his choral work "Warum ist das Licht gegeben dem Müseligen" from 1877 to the great Bach scholar Philipp Spitta. The entire work revolves around the big question: "Why": If God is almighty and merciful, why is there all this suffering in the world?
