We are pleased that Concerto Copenhagen has once again prioritized putting on one of their much-visited Christmas concerts with us in Helsingør Cathedral. This year's Christmas concert with Concerto Copenhagen unites Johann Sebastian Bach's festive Christmas cantatas with Selma Lagerlöf's touching Christ Legends - a musical meeting between heaven and earth, the sublime and the human. With the sparkling instruments of the Baroque and Lagerlöf's adventurous narrative voice, a very special atmosphere is created that goes straight to the heart - because the premise of Lagerlöf's stories is that the divine can never be reached with reason or reason, but through imagination, art and the life lived. The program includes 3 of JS Bach's evocative cantatas written for Christmas Day, Christmas Sunday and Epiphany. Actor Emil Knutzon will read Lagerlöf's Christ Legends between the cantatas. Concerto Copenhagen with soloists will once again deliver a Christmas concert in a special class this year.
