Two of classical music's most beloved and popular works compete for attention this evening, with both Rachmaninov's sumptuously melodious 2nd Piano Concerto and Smetana's superhit Mà Vlast being placed in the hands of the energetic young conductor Nicolò Foron, who took both audience and orchestra by storm last season.
