Vision Duo

Vision Duo (violinist Ariel Horowitz and percussionist Britton-René Collins) and Chromic Duo (toy pianists and multimedia artists Lucy Yao and Dorothy Chan) explore our experience of time in three musical chapters centering past, future and present. Past will begin with a performance of the final movement of Olivier Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time – a masterpiece from the Western Classical 20th canon exploring the concept of immortality. Text shared by the audience will be projected onto the walls of Merkin Hall as the artists move from the Messiaen into their own original compositions and improvisations based on the audience's words.
