Paliesius Manor – unexpected musical combinations! The phrase “Late Junction” is well-known to the British – it is a show on the BBC 3 radio station that is loved by music lovers and has received prestigious awards. The appeal of the programs created by this show is a unique listening experience, when medieval ballads sound next to 21st century electronic music, and alternative jazz is mixed with folklore. Unexpected combinations surprise and open up different contexts of listening to music.

Late Junctions

A concert of Lithuanian diaspora music will be held at the Paliesiaus Manor. The program "In Two Voices" will be performed, inviting you to a sensitive journey of music and poetry. The title "In Two Voices" reflects the special idea of ​​the concert: the voice here will sound in two ways - as a human sung word and as a musical language brought to life through the piano. Two different voices – direct and instrumental – will merge into one sensitive, unified experience.

MK Čiurlionis – Serpents – looks at the present-day Man from the sky… What do we know about him, born 150 years ago? How much courage, drive, energy, sensitivity to ourselves, music, and Lithuania have we learned from him? This concert program by pianist Eglė Andrejevaitė is an innovative look at the work of one of Lithuania's most famous artists and composers.

We invite you to see off winter with a dance rhythm! At Paliesius Manor – Duo Simaška & Salijus. This is an exceptional tandem that combines two different, but perfectly compatible musical instruments. The sound of the violin and accordion, often considered an unexpected combination, acquires special expressiveness and harmonious balance in this duet. Talented and innovative musicians – violinist Dalia Simaška and accordionist Laimonas Salijus – are among the most prominent performers of the young generation of Lithuania, laureates of international and republican competitions, performing both in Lithuania and abroad. The music they perform covers various genres – from classical to contemporary music, which they present with extraordinary sensitivity and creativity.

DUO SIMAŠKA & SALIJUS: "In the Rhythm of Dance"

Pianist Gintaras Januševičius has been surprising his listeners with his inventive programs for ten years. Listeners will not forget his "Dreamcatcher", "All Chopin Waltzes", "The New Colossus" or "Tales of the Merchant of Venice" for a long time. In each program, G. Januševičius, like a chameleon, not only transforms into different characters, but also moves to another era, culture or musical style. For many years, while creating his unique programs, he carefully selects works and, as it were, assembles them into a single musical necklace, which he decorates with stories, images, acting elements or even smells. With his innovative concert ideas, he captivates listeners in New York, Paris, London, Zurich, Rio de Janeiro, and returns to Lithuanian concert halls every year.

At Paliesius Manor, two jazz greats – T. Kutavičius and A. Gotesman – will join forces on stage for a spontaneous musical dialogue. We invite you to a special concert where music is born here and now – during a spontaneous musical dialogue. Pianist Tomas Kutavičius and percussionist Arkadijus Gotesmanas create on stage without a pre-plan – sounds breathe, surprise each other and seek out unexplored spaces. Piano and percussion improvisation is born in the moment, guided by an inner impulse, unpredictable encounters between sound and silence.

The Georgian pianist David Khrikulis, a finalist of the 2025 Chopin Competition, will perform at the Paliesius Manor - during this competition he received the most audience sympathy and discussions of all the participants. He will perform a program of Chopin's works at the Manor, for the first time after the competition. This is the pianist's only concert in Lithuania.

At the Paliesius Manor – talented pianist Morta Grigaliūnaitė and music by Finnish composers! The axis of this program – the piano work of one of the most important Finnish composers of the last century, Einojuhanos Rautavaara (1928–2016). Often called a mystic, Rautavaara drew inspiration from literature, religion, philosophy and his own dreams and childhood memories. This is illustrated by such titles of works as "The Gift of Dreams", "The Sermon on Fire" and "The Angel of Light". At the same time, Rautavaara perfectly understood the inner world of man and its nuances. The composer's creative process involved a constant search for different means of expression, maneuvering between the intangible world and the need for virtuoso expression by the performer.

At Paliesius Manor – the talent of the young generation and an extremely romantic program! The talented pianist Ignas Maknickas has prepared a classical program in which you will hear Chopin, Čiurlionis and other romantics. Born in California and raised in Lithuania, pianist Ignas Maknickas, currently living in London, has won many awards. In 2024, he became the winner of the Royal Overseas League Annual Music Competition for Keyboard Instruments. In 2023, he won the Young Classical Artists Trust International Audition. He has also won the first prize at the 19th Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition for Young People in Šafarnia, the first prize at the 20th Young Virtuoso Competition in Zagreb, the third prize at the Aarhus Piano Competition, and was a semi-finalist at the 2021 Vendome Competition.

"Chopin, Čiurlionis and other romantics"

Baroque music is often presented as grand, serious and a little... cautious. However, the ensemble "Dar vieni" thinks differently. They invite you to a concert in which Baroque is freed from museum frames - it is alive, pulsating. For the ensemble, Baroque is not only counterpoints and ornaments. It is an era in which emotions are no less than today, you just need to blow the dust off it. The ensemble wants to take this music in your hands, move it, feel how it breathes. It wants the listener to be more than just an observer - to get involved, feel the rhythm, emotion, and maybe even forget that they are sitting in a concert hall. Because Baroque music was not written for museums, but for people. It was intended to celebrate, mourn, express passion and inner vibrations - and it still can. You just need to let it live.

Talented pianist Ieva Jokubavičiūtė's concert program will feature important works by Johannes Brahms and contemporary piano music.
