Insurance salesman Walter Neff finds his life taking an unexpected turn following a meeting with the unhappily married Phyllis. The two formulate a plan to kill her husband and make it appear to be accidental, triggering the double indemnity clause in his life insurance. Things seem to be going to plan - but Walter's sharp-eyed boss starts to suspect something, and Phyllis seems to be more deceptive than Walter had bargained for...
