This concert is dedicated to the award-winning composer Sofia Gubaidulina, who passed away in 2025. She wrote music for a fairy tale about a small piece of chalk with big dreams, a story that reads like a parable about the fate of an artist. Mahler's "Songs of a Wayfarer" also delve deep into the human soul: the poems oscillate between the joys and sorrows of love and the question of fulfillment between "world and dream," this life and the next. ...
