The orchestra presents Arnold Bax’s cheerful and bubbling Dance in the Sunlight. Clarice Assad’s Violin Concerto features lecturer of violin Desirée Ruhstrat. Concluding the evening is Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2 in D Major, Op. 36, a relentlessly cheerful work punctuated by moments of melancholy.
