In the mid-1930s, with fascism on the rise in Europe, Randall Thompson composed The Peaceable Kingdom—a powerful choral meditation on the eternal struggle between light and darkness. Our program pairs this monumental work with excerpts from a modern response: Walk in Beauty, Walk in Light by Judy A. Rose. Also featured: the winners of Cerddorion’s 2026 Emerging Composers Competition.
