London Haydn Quartet
More details
Praised by BBC Music Magazine for the ‘wonderful immediacy’ of its Haydn performances, the London Haydn Quartet offers the ideal post-Christmas pick-me-up in the form of the composer’s genial String Quartet Op. 17 No. 1, with what the musicologist and critic Donald Tovey called its ‘grass-green’ opening theme, and the dazzling G major String Quartet, the first in Haydn’s Op. 54 set from 1788.
