The late, great tenor saxophonist and composer Jimmy Heath was a beloved fixture at the Stanford Jazz Festival, performing often as a headliner, and with his brothers, bassist Percy Heath and drummer Albert “Tootie” Heath. Young virtuoso Lynn Speakman had the good fortune to study and work with Jimmy during her summers on the faculty at SJW.
