Parallel to the U.S. folk music revival of the sixties was a similar evolution happening in Canada, centered in the clubs of Toronto’s Yorkville Village. Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Gordon Lightfoot, Buffy St. Marie and others performed in those clubs, where the songs of Leonard Cohen were also introduced.
