Maestro Tausk concludes the season with Mahler’s deeply introspective Das Lied von der Erde (The Song of the Earth), which reminds us the fleeting nature of life versus the eternity of the world. Plus, the overture from Mozart’s timeless classic The Magic Flute, and the return of Dorothy Chang’s Gateways, a concerto for piano and erhu, which thematically connects to the Chinese poetry from which Mahler drew inspiration for Das Lied von der Erde.
