In their 39th season finale, Sinfonia da Camera presents an eclectic collection of works by Fauré, Mendelssohn, and Mahler. The program opens with Fauré’s Pelléas et Mélisande Suite, assembled from incidental music he composed in 1898 for a performance in London of Maeterlinck’s Symbolist play about forbidden love, Pelléas et Mélisande.
