Three of Hampton Roads’ great arts institutions unite for one night as the talented musicians from Old Dominion University and The Governor’s School for the Arts rehearse and perform alongside the Virginia Symphony Orchestra in a thrilling performance of Mahler’s beloved Fourth Symphony. Inspired by folk poetry, and an earlier song he composed, the sublime music portrays a child’s view of heaven.
