LLEF, a flute and cello duo by the Welsh-born composer Hilary Tann, is a drone-anchored meditation with breathy pentatonic lines that mingle in the shadows of Welsh hymns. Samuel Coleridge-Taylor weaves endlessly inventive, folk-inflected melodies that Shimmer in a nest of Brahmsian form and Dvořák-esque harmony for his robust quintet for clarinet and strings.
