The Masterworks Choir and the Florence Symphony Orchestra join forces to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, first performed in Vienna, May 7, 1824. Beethoven’s use of the poem “Ode to Joy” by Friedrich Schiller, marks the first time a famous composer used voices in a symphony.
