Gideon’s Army, her first documentary as a budding director, followed the lives of three Black public defenders working in the South. Critically acclaimed, it won an award at the Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for an Emmy. Her work has been featured on HBO, Netflix, CNN, PBS and other platforms.
