Carl Matthes has performed as a soloist with orchestras in Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, the Seattle Center Coliseum, and the San Francisco Opera House. He gave the London debut of the Passacaglia by Walter Piston, the American debut of the Piano Concerto by Joseph Wagner, the West Coast premiers of New Pictures at an Exhibition by Seymour Bernstein, Fireside by Eve Beglarian and Raw Silk (A Rag) by Nurit Tilles.
