This moving piece serves as a lament for the tragic loss of native animal life in Australia during the devastating brushfires of 2019 and 2020. The program will also include Samuel Barber’s "Medea’s Dance of Vengeance," a powerful work derived from the composer’s ballet suite, which itself is based on the ancient Greek tragedy by Euripedes.
