Elizabeth Gyring (1886-1970) was a talented Jewish composer in Vienna, Austria, before fleeing the Nazi regime in 1939. She immigrated to New York, NY. Despite her previously established career in Europe, prolific compositional output, and years of trying, she was never able to secure significant opportunities, and died in obscurity. Our presentation of the Suite for Oboe and Piano and Oboe Concerto will be the first time they have been performed...
