The Oakland Symphony Orchestra marks its official return home to the newly renovated Varner Recital Hall with this opening concert of the 2023-2024 season. Dr. Amanda Ross, Visiting Assistant Professor of Trumpet at Oakland University will perform as soloist on the virtuosic Concerto for Trumpet, op. 18 by Oskar Boehme. Other repertoire includes Gift by Zhou Tian and the monumental The Planets by Gustav Holst.
