Celebrate the holiday season with a heartwarming evening at the Rockport Opera House, hosted by the Rockport Public Library. This family-friendly event is set to take place on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The festivities begin with a delightful holiday handbell concert featuring the talented ensemble from the Penobscot Bay Ringers. Experience the joyous sounds of the season through their exquisite handbell performance, marking a perfect start to the evening.

Following the concert, attendees will be treated to a screening of the classic holiday film, "The Polar Express" (2004), which runs for 1 hour and 40 minutes. This enchanting movie, based on the beloved children's book by Chris Van Allsburg, follows the journey of a young boy who embarks on an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole. Along the way, he discovers the importance of bravery, friendship, and the spirit of Christmas. It's a story that inspires and captivates audiences of all ages.

Guests are encouraged to embrace the cozy atmosphere by wearing their favorite pajamas. To further enhance the festive mood, delicious baked goods, yummy beverages, and an abundance of holiday cheer will be provided. Doors will open at 4:45 PM, ensuring everyone has ample time to settle in before the evening's activities commence.

This event is FREE and open to the public, making it a wonderful opportunity for community members to come together and celebrate the season. A special thanks is extended to the Penobscot Bay Ringers, a community handbell organization based in Camden, Maine. Celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2023, the group is committed to promoting excellence in handbell artistry through performance, education, and community engagement.
