This captivating production, penned by Alvaro Saar Rios and directed by Johamy Morales, transports audiences to the vibrant world of lucha libre—Mexican wrestling—through the lens of the Chinese legend of Hua Mulan. Set against the backdrop of 1960s Texas, the story unfolds as Nana Lupita, a Washington grandmother, recounts her adventurous youth. Discover Lupita's journey from a daring teen tomboy to a courageous wrestler who, with the aid of a magical mask maker, trains in secret to replace her ailing father in a World Championship match. 

"Luchadora!" is a memory play that seamlessly blends the present with the past, incorporating themes of family, identity, and the pursuit of dreams. The show features choreographed Lucha Libre wrestling, offering a spectacle of high-flying maneuvers, colorful masks, and dynamic action, making it suitable for audiences aged 8 and above. With a running time of approximately 80 minutes without an intermission, this production promises an engaging and heartwarming experience for the whole family.

Special performances include an ASL Interpreted Performance on March 2, 2024, an Audio Described Performance on March 9, 2024, and a Sensory Sensitive Performance on March 10, 2024, demonstrating Seattle Children's Theatre's commitment to accessibility and inclusivity.
